Do they actually edit comments over on MeFi (other than the occasional broke-the-page HTML stuff)? Seems to me that they just flat-out delete a comment rather than edit out offending parts. And that is what I would vastly prefer, if only because it doesn't expose the mods to charges of changing the intent of what someone said.

I think that if you go on a sports discussion site during the Olympics, you lose all right to complain that Olympic events are being spoiled willy-nilly. I mean, I love you people, but I am capable of staying the hell away from the SpoFi button on my bookmarks bar.

I was another advocate of less coverage of Sandusky here, but this is a sports story again. "Sandusky convicted" wasn't -- "Penn State hit with bowl ban and scholarship reductions" is.
