Bypassing a swear filter on another site I frequent is enough to earn a 3 day ban. 2nd offense is worse and a certain point accumulation will earn you a Ban On Site to your IP addy. Some fucked up shit I tell you.

Seems we probably won't be reviving the Puckathon this year.
Agree with NoMich, hockey is alive and in need of a Puckathon.
As far as the season is concerned, I'm hoping St. Louis continues where they left off last regular season. They had a second half record of 25-9-7 and were only stopped by Loungo's ridiculously good goal-tending in the first round. Finally, the Blues seem to have a solid 1-2 punch in net. Eric Johnson will return after his "golf cart accident" caused him to miss the entire last year. Along with youngsters Oshie, Bergland, Perron and Johnson, the Blues have five other prospects we could see this year: Alex Pietrangelo, Ian Cole, Lars Eller, Ben Bishop and Phillip McRae.
While it's been tough to be a Blues fan in recent years. The rebuilding process seems to have been very much a success and the results (6th seed in the West last year) are apparent. I hope to see it continue.
Mr. T, I'm sorry to tell you that you have no chance.

BoKnows a lot of things the rest of you don't. If that applies to the CFL is what's in question.

I think Bo might have been out celebrating with Freddy Flintoff and the gang.
Based on responses/non-responses received both here and on another forum, last night sounds like it was fun. If only I could remember some of it.

There is no question that the wrestling entertainment industry requires well-trained athletes. But because of the usual predetermined outcome, I don't see it as "sport".
Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determinant of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports (a common name for some card games and board games with little to no element of chance) and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors.
I do enjoy watching it though, and was raised watching the WWF every Sunday morning, so I'm not a wrestling basher by any means. I will continue to watch and be entertained by the WWE, TNA, etc... but I will never confuse it with reality.

In week 2's BC vs. Hammy game, I nailed the spread, but for the wrong team :( The reason I bring this up is that my points reflect it, but the chart lists it as a win for BC. Should I even get the point for the spread? Your decision.

Are the numbers here goofy? Is it 16 points for the top team picked or 32?
MrFrisby got it right. When I re-started the confidence pool, I was already quite a few games behind. So after entering all the games past and all the member picks - one by one - I just simply overlooked the scoring structure. So, as it is, 2 points for a win. Ex: Detroit and 16 points = 32 points per win. Still works out the same, just bigger numbers at the end.

I'll stick with my early pick for the cup.
Conn Smythe winner is.....Sidney Crosby

Detroit in 6 (Being a Blues fan, I feel like I am sinning by picking either team in the West. But need not worry, neither team will win the cup :)
Pittsburgh in 6 (And I'll take Pittsburgh to win the Cup (in 7) - yes, that is an early pick, mark it down)
3 points for Conn Smythe is cool, but that won't make up much ground for me, so how about 5.

Why is it not very sportsmanlike to play by the rules?
My opinion is not that you cheated in any way. I don't discredit your win. I do however, think that limits should be set on the number of transactions allowed per season. Especially when there are only 10 teams. That leaves too many quality players available, daily. (When there are 14/16 teams, this issue never comes up due to the owners not having the same quality of FA at the ready.)
I was commissioner of this league and I apologize for not at least proposing limits to be set prior to the season. But as I did in baseball, the majority vote will decide the rules.
By the way:
jbou - 29 total moves during the season, no trades dusted - 34 total moves, 2 trades
So, dusted, you really have little to complain about.

I, for one, would use it. I don't recall any negative reaction/comments about it. I view it as a good way to provide a little extra back story without creating a super long FPP. Thanks for the consideration. Anyone disagree?
posted by BoKnows at 07:36 PM on April 30
rcade, your post of the Shani Davis incident is an example of the ability I am asking about. Is there no character limit on a FPP? If there isn't, how does the format decide what amount of text remains hidden until opening the thread?

dusted, I brought that issue up while creating the Baseball leagues, sent an email to everyone asking for an opinion, and the majority vote was no limit on moves in both a weeks time and for the full season.
The roto format would allow something very similar as well. Yes, there are preset limits per position, but unless you are checking your roster every day, it is very easy to fall short of those max. games. That again, would allow quantity to beat quality. I don't wish to cause controversy either, but I do feel the same as you.
(By the way, I spent most of the year in last place and somehow managed to finish 7th, after 2 straight wins. Suckers.)
posted by BoKnows at 10:35 AM on April 29
By the way, it is 2 points for a win, so for ex: If you pick San Jose as 16, and they win a game, you will show 32 points. Why I did it that way, I have know idea, probably just overlooked the default setting.
