NYTimes links?

Me, I wonder how on earth they spent $40 million on a "gateway" that consists of:

1. One CSS overlay, and
2. One overflow:hidden CSS rule.

And it's cookie-based. Just delete your nytimes.com cookies and you're golden.

I'm happy with the current window for editing comments (5 minutes I think?).

It might be nice to have an appropriately scaled editing window for posts. Maybe 1 hour or some such.

Discouraging Front-Page Posts

I, for one, enjoy posts about weird things I wouldn't otherwise have heard of—like a quirky minor league playoff format. I think it's one of the strengths of this site and should be encouraged.

I dunno. I kind of like having the not-absolutely-necessarily-about-today-sports-news option in here. Wonder if closing the Locker Room would dilute the front page at all.

Should SportsFilter Have a Daily Catch-All Link?

I'll complain about it at first, and then grow to love it, and then complain against in six months' time when you change the time of the daily post.

I think we should name it The Judge Redfield T. Baum Story Hour.

New Wii User: Recommend a soccer title?

I bought MLB Power Pros in June, and I've played it pretty much every day since. It's like they took Wii Sports baseball and made it into real baseball. The gameplay is pretty solid, and it has several different ways to play: you can play a season as a manager, a GM, or you can swing at every single pitch. There's also a career mode in which you're a college freshman trying to make it to the bigs; it plays a little like a Japanese soap opera, but it's still pretty fun.

So if you don't mind strangely-coloured Japanese-style menus, and you like your MLB players round and cartoony, it's a great game of ball.

(Sorry for the derail, bill!)

We have the Cuisinart CBK-200, which sounds more like a piece of military equipment. Kind of looks like one, too. Apparently it also makes jam, but we haven't made it that far. Woke up to our first overnight loaf this morning, made with the fast-rising yeast. It had risen a little funny and lumpy, but was pretty tasty.
