Fan Dies After Josh Hamilton Tosses Him Baseball: A fan attending the Texas Rangers game Thursday night died after Josh Hamilton tossed a foul ball to him in the second inning. Shannon Stone, a Brownwood, Texas, firefighter attending the game with his young son, was along the left field outfield wall and fell through an opening behind the outfield fence. Video footage from the Oakland A's broadcast shows the accident.

The French will never give up with their attack on Lance: Now Le Monde is reporting statements of two Armstrong enemies that Lance admitted to his doctors that he doped up. Other witnesses and the doctors deny it, but don't expect the French to tell the whole story.

Timing of Wiretap Backs Gretzky : The New Jersey Attorney General's Office and state police said Sunday the agencies would not comment on a pending criminal investigation. Yeah, now that they have released what appears to be false information (the wiretap in the last month was actually just a few days before and after the gambling investigation was revealed) and attempted their typical character assassination in the press, they finally say they are going to shut up.

Baseball owners approve new steroid policy: No brainer, here. Not really news. However, my comment. I think in the future, when we look back on who had the greatest impact on professional baseball (perhaps sports in general) in the early 21st century, one name might top the list: Jose Canseco.

Update to "He wanted to win.": T-ball coach to be tried for paying player $25 to injure mentally disabled player to keep him out of game. Coach charged with two counts of criminal solicitation to commit aggravated assault and one count each of corruption of minors, criminal conspiracy and recklessly endangering another person.
