I'm a Giants fan living in St. Louis, so naturally I was pulling for the Cardinals in this one.
As soon as the game was over, the roads were crowded and people were trying to forget this ever happened.
Well, at least I'll stop hearing the "best fans in baseball", self-congratulations that this city absolutely revels in for a couple of months.

Bragging rights and bulletin board fodder. The whole "Nobody believes in us!" nonsense that doesn't make much sense if you're ranked in the top ten nationally.

However, that's not to say that Beckham is without blame. Beckham has hardly been the consummate professional on these shores with the way he's carried himself both on and off the pitch.

I think Landon should have put on his big boy pants well before Beckham came to the Galaxy. He might have found himself lasting longer at Leverkusen to begin with and might have avoided a very public row with one of the game's most recognizable faces.

I've heard that the media had reported Dundee United scored, but that goal had been disallowed.
And with as many Man United supporters who hang around the Man City forums, I imagine there are just as many Celtic supporters who keep up to the Rangers going ons at FollowFollow where the prank was allegedly hatched.

I've been following City through three divisions of English football, with the nagging reminder that we haven't won a legitimate trophy since the 1976 League Cup and a major trophy since the 1969 FA Cup. It's been rough. Ten years ago we were in Division Two. Just ten years ago. Now look.
Sure, Liverpool and Man United supporters will say you can't buy history, but you know what? We just bought a future.

If you think about Oklahoma City's proximity to and history with Tinker Air Force Base, and the fact that the Midwest City High School (for the unacquainted: the suburb in which Tinker AFB is primarily located) nickname/mascot is the Bombers, then I don't think that Bombers is too terribly inappropriate. It wouldn't be in poor taste at all and the people who are repeatedly saying that it is are the ones who need to pull their heads out of their behinds.

Thaksin was NOT thinking. He's not a football guy and, more than likely, looks at City as a really expensive toy he can show off. Hughes is a step down in terms of managerial pedigree, but maybe he can surprise.

Rafa will not keep this starting 11. Kuyt will get the start ahead Crouch... for whatever reason. Crouch scores two, Yossi scores a hat trick, Babel scores two, and even Stevie G gets in on the fun... but the chance of seeing this starting 11 this weekend is slim. Rotation, rotation, rotation.

As it stands now, there are 13 teams. Contraction makes more sense than expansion. And if New York City gets a second team, I'll be absolutely pissed. The fact that St. Louis is simply a "bubble" town and Portland (with a smaller metropolitan population) is considered a sure thing is ridiculous. Red Bull New York can't even sell out the lower bowl at Giants Stadium and they want to give New York City a new stadium? Do they have Enron execs running MLS?

There is no way they're doing 21 teams. If anything happens, they'll dock West Ham about 10 to 15 points for NEXT season. The Premier League isn't about to admit that they got their chains yanked by West Ham. Seriously, who believes it when somebody says they just unilaterally voided a contract with somebody else? "Oh yes, we just tore that contract up. Null and void." Obviously the Premier League.

Don't care what the haters have to say. The Guardian rips City any time they have the chance anyway, so why should it come as any surprise that they're doing it again? I thought the Left was suppose to be a bit more kinder and gentler than that. I've spent months scouring the net for information on these human rights abuses and really haven't came across any specifics.
