1) At least the Pens aren't on the remaining season schedule for the Blues. Probably couldn't handle any more daggers from Crosby.
2) You can't hype up a "rivalry" and expect everybody to be all orange slices, handshakes, and pizza parties at the end of the game, though.

It was great to be in Vancouver and catching the events live on television. I came home to this nonsense and understood, in a moment of extreme clarity, that everything everybody has said negatively about NBC over the last half year has been absolutely true.

As long as Snyder owns this team Shanahan GM/coaches this team they will not win a playoff game let alone make it to the SB.
To be fair though, I don't really see how this team makes it past third in the division, much less worry about the playoffs.

I'm a Giants fan living in St. Louis, so naturally I was pulling for the Cardinals in this one.
As soon as the game was over, the roads were crowded and people were trying to forget this ever happened.

I think Landon should have put on his big boy pants well before Beckham came to the Galaxy. He might have found himself lasting longer at Leverkusen to begin with and might have avoided a very public row with one of the game's most recognizable faces.

I've been following City through three divisions of English football, with the nagging reminder that we haven't won a legitimate trophy since the 1976 League Cup and a major trophy since the 1969 FA Cup. It's been rough. Ten years ago we were in Division Two. Just ten years ago. Now look.
Sure, Liverpool and Man United supporters will say you can't buy history, but you know what? We just bought a future.

If you think about Oklahoma City's proximity to and history with Tinker Air Force Base, and the fact that the Midwest City High School (for the unacquainted: the suburb in which Tinker AFB is primarily located) nickname/mascot is the Bombers, then I don't think that Bombers is too terribly inappropriate. It wouldn't be in poor taste at all and the people who are repeatedly saying that it is are the ones who need to pull their heads out of their behinds.

As it stands now, there are 13 teams. Contraction makes more sense than expansion. And if New York City gets a second team, I'll be absolutely pissed. The fact that St. Louis is simply a "bubble" town and Portland (with a smaller metropolitan population) is considered a sure thing is ridiculous. Red Bull New York can't even sell out the lower bowl at Giants Stadium and they want to give New York City a new stadium? Do they have Enron execs running MLS?
