I have not read the answer to this question -- does having 3 times the "normal" level of testosterone give her an advantage?

I like it better than the Herschel Walker trade... I don't think that the Vikings are any worse off.

Coming back to win game 3 on the road after losing 2 at home takes a lot of character and Chutzpah. It seems that the Cubs ran out of both.

My 9 year old son was in an instructional league last spring. He was beaned in the side of the head by a pitcher who threw between 40 and 50 (but he hit at least one batter every time he pitched). My son survived the beaning and after shaking it off and running the baseline got back in the box and faced the pitcher again (he struck out but then the next time he faced him he was the only one on the team to make contact -- he wasn't awarded a base for being hit because the ump called time and the pitcher didn't hear him and threw anyway. My son wasn't ready and had his head turned so the ball caught his on the ear protector -- it hurt but he didn't cry). All this to say, that 40 MPH is not too fast for 9 year olds (that's the speed he works on in the batting cages. Most pitchers throw at least that fast).
The other parents seem to be most upset that the team is dominating the league and are using the pitcher as an excuse (He is playing on a team other than the team that wanted him). The team won when he didn't pitch and I am sure that the kid can't pitch every inning or every game (they have rules against that). Leave the intrigue and posturing for Olympic host nations.
So let the boy pitch. Make all the parents (and the league officials) be quiet or be banned from games. And next time, put him in a different league because this kind of bickering and fighting take all the fun out of a game.

How can anyone afford to go to these games? We get the $5 tickets in the view section to see the Angels and bring our own food and drinks (and not only are we allowed to bring in our own sunscreen, they also give away sunscreen there in case you forget yours). It doesn't cost more than $50 for the 8 of us to go to the game. Do the Yankees or the Mets do anything like that?

Except the rules say that you must be a certain age (those rules established to protect the girls) and if you were younger and you won then it would be cheating.
Since other websites and sources (even government ones) seem to be disappearing faster than dissidents and Christians, I'd say that something is afoot and there is a conspiracy of some sort.

Great FPP Joey -- succinct and to the point!
Back in the 70's you could watch swimming on Wide World of Sports. Maybe now they'll bring back swimming on TV. and yep Cavic was wrong (unless it was his way of motivating Phelps to win).

I remember this story even though I have never been a basketball fan. The impact of his story is not that he died but the results of his death (the war on drugs -- stricter laws and enforcement). Because his death brought drug use to the public's attention, Congress reacted and hurriedly passed laws that met the public's demands but were they really the right laws with the right consequences?

At least my son (the Angel fan) can say to his friend (the Dodger fan) -- my team no-hit your team!

I took my two sons and two of their friends to a game recently. We were able to get 3 balls during batting practice -- all of them tossed by the Angels outfielders. I am glad this guy wasn't there so they had a chance. I am amazed that he can get that many. My oldest did get two during one batting practice between the Padres and the Rockies. (I don't bring a glove to the game either-- I bring boys!). Although I did get one off a HR during batting practice at Dodger stadium before I had children.

I had to break the news to my children that Filmore had died. Some day when they are older, they can get to know Filmore's other side. .

As a parent, I would do anything to protect my child from harm from an adult or an older or bigger child. As a parent, if my child is playing a sport with another child and my child gets injured, I would not attack the other child (even if the shot was cheap -- there are other ways to deal with that). I would do what I could to help my child. A man or woman who is put in a position of responsibilty to train all children should never harm a child no matter what happens on the field. Where are the pitchforks?

They should post-pone it. The Chargers have enough to do without having to deal with a game and travel. Or move it to the Rose Bowl and give all the proceeds back to the community.

The Real Cost of the Ball Game
He just doesn't know where to watch a game...The Angels have $3 tickets and sitting in the boxes (10 rows from the field down the first baseline) can be as low as $33. Parking is only $8 (which I thought was a lot until I went to the Dodger's game)...yeah food is expensive but who goes to the game and buys food? We bring our own munchies and drinks (okay..you have to buy their beer) so we can get the whole family into a game for about $32 cheaper than a movie
