If I am a Cowboy fan the only thing I am pissed off about is that Jones didn't give him the boot before Coles and Houshmanzada had settled in elsewhere.

If Pete feels he has something to prove in the NFL then yes, he will leave, but if Pete is happy where he is, and has no burning desire for redemption, then no, he will not go anywhere. If I was him I'd be very happy coaching at USC, and being treated like a king in so cal.

UConn players punished by university for laptop thefts

Sorry, but not everybody engages in $11,000 worth of larceny while in college. As far as the punishment fitting the crime, I'll make you a deal: you go steal four laptop computers, get caught, then face the consequences. If you get off without jail time, I'll admit that you're 100% right. Get yourself a good lawyer and you will not face jail time if you are a first time offender. Jails are too full to be locking up every person who does something dumb like grabbing a few laptops, now climb down off your high horse and embrace reality.

it's time for the Yankees to trade A-Rod for a bunch of youngsters, and offer to pay half his salary to boot. The Yankees need to rebuild with youth. I'm sick and tired of this 80's flashback, next they'll be signing steve kemp and Ed Whitson. A-Rod has failed two years in a row to step up in the playoffs, he's no Scott Brosius. Gaudy numbers during the season do not impress me.

As one of the first Yankee fans out here to be a total dick I'll step up and actually be nice. Ortiz was playing out of his skull the last month and if I had a vote for MVP he'd get it. Both the Sox and Yanks have had injuries that would criplle other teams but both of them have made the playoffs and all is right in the baseball world. As for who wins the world series... Yankees over the Braves in 6 games.

If Shaq wants 30 million he should be held to some standards, if he gains weight money comes off the top, if he fails to play in a certain amount of games money comes off the top, if he was 28 I'd say yes without all the caveats, but now that he's old he has to give up a little to get what he wants.

I suffer enough working for the Democrats so in the shallow world of sports I just want to feel good, is that too much to ask? Now, you know who needed a Big Brother? Mike Tyson needed a big brother, someone as big as George Foreman, and with a chin like Randall Tex Cobb, you could have hit Cobb with a bulldozer and he'd have gotten up when the ref hit five in the count. Mike needed a big brother that would tell Don King to go to hell, tell him to keep training, and one to drag him out of the room before he rapes a woman. Ok, maybe I was jumping the gun on Kobe, looking at my reasons for Tyson, Kobe could use a big brother too.

Now as Neyer points out on ESPN.com the Yankees have upgraded their pitching staff from last year. Clemens gets replaced by Brown, and Pettite by Vazquez, and the Yankees just got better. Now, if they sign Vlad instead of Sheff then King George is not doing too bad, in fact, he'd have done a great job upgrading the Yankees. I hear the Yankee fans saying they want Nick and Andy back, hell, I want Paul, Tino, and the rest of the band of brothers from the late 90's back, but the Yankees have recieved quality in return for Nick, but Andy, fuck, I'll miss him greatly, he was awesome in the playoffs, ah, whatever.

Yankees trade for Vazquez

Relax Bern, some experts think Vazquez will be great in NYC.......................... The Yankees need to retool their rotation, and Javier Vazquez is a stellar fit. Vazquez is only 27 years old and has a great arm. His command is his biggest asset. The right-hander hits his spots and keeps the ball down, displaying tremendous control. His 2003 numbers are All-Star caliber: just 57 walks in 230 innings with 241 strikeouts. A strikeout-to-walk ratio of better than 4-1 is impressive. I believe Vazquez's personality also will be a good fit for the Yankees. In fact, the pressure of playing in New York should make him a better pitcher. It's an opportunity for him to dial up the intensity. I've talked to Vazquez a handful of times, and I've been impressed with him. One plus for Vazquez is that he won't be expected to be the savior. With Joe Torre's Yankees, it's all about the team. Remember the 1998 Yankee team that won 114 games and then won the World Series? No one star stood out. How did the Yankees do in terms of keeping pace with the Red Sox and their recent acquisition of Curt Schilling? Well, for next year, Boston has the advantage on paper, because Schilling is a dual ace alongside Pedro Martinez. He's a veteran with a proven track record (and the 2001 World Series co-MVP). But because Vazquez is 10 years younger than Schilling, this deal has tremendous upside for the Yankees. It bodes well for their rotation for years to come. ESPN baseball analyst Tom Candiotti was a major-league pitcher for 16 seasons

Yankees trade for Vazquez

I have to say that Yankee fans that think this is a bad trade are silly. Vazquez is one of the best young pitchers in baseball so yes they have to give up a good player to get him, but this is a much better deal then giving up Johnson and Soriano for Schilling. This trade makes the Yankees pitching staff younger and better.

Plus the Yankees are going to trade for Vasquez, or sign Colon, or get both, King George will not allow the Sox to get the last laugh. Sheffield is a very nice addition to the Yankee lineup, he has a great on base percentage, and hits in the clutch, Giambi will walk a lot less with Sheff in the lineup too.

See, I said I still like getting my digs in on red sox fans. Take the loss like a man! Uh gary, I gave credit where it was due in my first comment, and then I talked about how some fans are nutjobs, you all are chosing to focus on the nutjob statement. I should expect this from you all, because after the Red Sox lost there were a bunch of irrational Yankee hating threads and whiny red sox fan threads, and the title of the thread is not Marlins win it's the Yankees lose, no, you all aren't a bunch of zealotts. There's always some bandwagon you can jump on. Tell me, are you going for the Titans now? Or, are you more of a Cowboys kinda guy? I'm a Steeler fan and I'll always be a Steeler fan, but I'm not going to get all upset when they lose, and I don't act like I've won something when they win. Beckett pitched great, but the Yankees should have wrapped this up in Florida, but they failed to hit in the clutch, Oh well. I would never compare a Yankee loss in the World Series to the misery Red Sox and Cub's fans go through, we Yankee fans have tasted the sweet drink called victory many times, and it makes these rare losses so much eaiser to swallow. King George better relax , he needs to realize that sometimes teams just play better then his and all the money in the world isn't going to change this. If George starts pulling the same shit he did in the 80's I won't be watching baseball at all. I can just see it now Gene "Stick" Michael is brought in, he signs every half-assed free agent out there and the Yankees end up with no team unity, and fail to make the playoffs. If George is smart he keeps Cashman and Torre, resigns Pettite, grabs Millwood, and Gurardo in free agency, trades Boone for a strong package of minor leaguers, this team doesn't need a makeover, it just nees a touchup. Of course George has never been good at being rational. After the Angels and Marlins won the last two World Series I don't want to hear anymore bitching about how unfair it is that some teams spend more then others that meme is dead.

Next you'll see Ainge trade for Keith Van Horn thinking he's Larry Bird, he already thinks Vin Baker is Robert Parrish, too bad Bobby Hurley retired, he could have picked him up thinking he was picking up Danny Ainge.
