You wouldn't want to know what goes on in that other league anyway.
LBB, you manage your lineup just like you would in the roto league; all the stat categories are added up as the week goes on, and the player with the better score in each category wins that category. If you and I are head to head this week, and you win Runs, Hits, HR, SB, and Avg., and I win ERA, Wins, and SO, then you win the week 5 - 3. This happens every week, all season long, and you keep adding up the weekly scores until playoff time. With all that said, The Fightin' PEDs are gonna straight up murder your asses. Except for jersey, who'll probably beat my brains into tapioca pudding for the third year in a row. This, more than anything else, is why I hate New Jersey.
Thanks for the explanation, TBH. I'm probably asking for waaay too much detail, but what do the rosters look like? How big is the bench, how many pitchers do you get, etc.? (I'm trying to figure out if this is as much work as the other flavor of fantasy baseball, where you constantly have to tweak your roster to deal with pitching rotations and so on.)
It works just like the other type of league except you play against another team each week and get a weekly result (9-5 for you, 5-9 for me) and the sum of those results determines the league winner at the end of the season.
You wouldn't want to know what goes on in that other league anyway. Does it have anything to do with Sutter-like tenacity?
No, we're the shadowy figures behind George Clooney's efforts over there.
Except for jersey, who'll probably beat my brains into tapioca pudding for the third year in a row. You've always enjoyed it in the past...

Didn't you just spend all that time showing me how to warp text? In the parlance of the Internets, "Totally Photoshopped."
(I'm trying to figure out if this is as much work as the other flavor of fantasy baseball, where you constantly have to tweak your roster to deal with pitching rotations and so on.) I think head-2-head leagues are more work than rotisserie leagues. In head-2-head you don't have any 162-game limit per position, or innings pitched limits. So you have to be aware of moving players in and out based on off days. From my experience, head-2-head requires more involvement in that sense. I know I haven't posted as much as others here, but I dig yahoo fantasy leagues. I hope nobody minds if I join up this year.
Thanks for the tip, chamo. I'll abstain from both leagues, then -- I was literally a waste of space last year.
I renewed the H2H league from last year and sent an email to the 11 teams from last year whose emails were available. In a day or so I'll post the league ID and password (and other details) and anybody who wants to participate is welcome. Last year we were hard pressed to find just 12 teams so there should be enough openings. Chamo you're more than welcome to join the H2H league.
League draft time is set. Your live online draft is set for Sat Mar 22 1:00pm EDT
Ying, count me in for the H2H again.
Someone can have my spot in the roto league, I'd rather play in the H2H league, if there are any spots open. Ying if you could give me a holler if there are any it would be great. Thanks for setting it all up, and thanks to Yukon for the email about the roto also.
There should be one, I won't be rejoining the H2H league.
YYM, I'd like an invite as well. Thanks for the work.
I'll post a thread for anyone who wants to join.
I posted it. Bo, chamo, and jojo (and anyone else) you are all more than welcome to join.
Thanks apoch. Thanks to YYM also, for doing the setup legwork and commissioner stuff also.
