2008 World Junior Championships: It's that time of the year again. Ten countries will get a group of kids under the age of twenty years old together, hand them a twig, throw them on a sheet of ice, and make them play a game with a frozen piece of rubber. What does that mean for us? Look inside.

Confidence Pool!

This is the easiest kind of pool there is. Rank the teams from 10 (the team that you predict will have the most wins) down to 1 (the team you predict will have the least amount of wins). For more information on how it works, click here.

Deadline to enter picks will be at the drop of the first puck, December 26, 2007 10:00 a.m. (click here for schedule)

How about a backyard hockey rink?

Or just buy one?

Sorry for going somewhat off-topic, but thought it was appropriate, being Friday and all. Note: I don't make any money off this. Just remember seeing it on someone's blog. Crazy.

Hockey link dump?

How about all of the Bud Light Hockey Falls ads?

You've gotta love Bill Clement combing out the mullet.

I've entered the last two games from today. It's getting crowded at the top of the standings.

Who's this Costanza guy, anyway?

Sweden opened up a can of whoopass on Denmark, winning 10-1. Could Sweden become the first team to score against Canada this year? We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see.

Well the first round of the tourney is over.
The perfect picks so far would have been:
(9-10) Sweden/USA
(7-8) Canada/Russia
(5-6) Czech Republic/Finland
(3-4) Slovakia/Kazakhstan
(1-2) Switzerland/Denmark
for a total of 300 points.

Chris2sy is the current leader so far with 294 points while rumple sits in last with only 262.

There are 11 games in the playoff/relegation round though, so there are still a lot of points to hand out.

Congrats go out to holden and apoch. Good/terrible prognostication fellas.

Maybe we should reconsider calling the Costanza the apoch award. I sure win it a lot. Gah.

Apoch, you are like the frog choking the pelican, you are doomed but you don't give up. You have my respect, sir. A big congrats to Holden as well, very nice prognostication. And a hearty congrats to the Collective as well.
