Though it looks much different today from that original concept, the event -- Global Village Basketball -- is finally here and it will be held for 24 hours this Wednesday, June 10.

Once again the argument is raised, "Does a curve ball really break?" Eric Wilbur in his Boston Sports Blog links to this possible explanation of why the curve seems to break as much as it does. If nothing else, it is fun to play with the settings and see their effect on the illusion. At least the authors admit that there is a physical principal involved, and not just an optical illusion.
