You can take the dog out of the track : but you can't take the track out of the dog.

Funny story, crash. I found another link to the story here.

Here's a funny video of a different dog on the pitch.

As an owner of a retired racer, I love this story!!

My dog once did something similar at a large suburban dog park. She started running along the fence line and it triggered something and the next thing I knew, she had taken off and was out of sight.

The funny part was that the fence curved into a small pond. I didn't see her but I do know she came trotting back to me, soaking wet. To this day I think she followed the fence right into that pond.

If that was my dog, I'd be the proudest dog owner in town. I'd apologize profusely to everyone concerned, and I'd probably be on the hook for a few rounds among the people involved, but on the whole, this is really neat.

I just get a tickle out of this. There is nothing to add, really, but I have to agree with chico. I would be real proud that my dog had the roar of the crowd and the bright lights as an inspiration to give it one more go around. And thanks for the second link to the story, Bo. That's a cute pooch.

I find it hard to believe there'd be enough of a crowd to make a discernible noise at a game between Blackpool Reserves and Burnley Reserves, though I suppose it is a local derby. The story was obviously big news in Blackpool though if Bo's link is anything to go by.

I was hoping that was true, squealy. It makes this into a lower-pressure thing, and everyone can have a good laugh. Everyone wins, including the dog.
