woooooooooooooooooohoooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooo. This has been the most painful football season of my entire life, between Duke, the Hurricanes, and the 'Fins. Of course, we're going to lose by 40 to the Pats next week.

The worst thing was that I was watching the CBS feed while watching the Dolphins game on the NFL.com gametrack - CBS are showing the Pats against the Jets and that finishes, so they move to Jacksonville against Pittsburgh... then that finishes, so they cut to the Baltimore-Miami game in overtime, just in time for Matt "five-for-five-in-overtime" Stover to line up for the winning kick, only to miss. CBS then cuts to a commercial and stays there for four minutes. We return to the game to see Dolphins' players jumping up and down on the field, celebrating the win that we just didn't see. So I watch the winning touchdown 37 times on NFL.com and then cut to the Fox feed and they're showing Dallas against Philadelphia and the very first thing the commentator says - like he's been waiting for me to tune in - is "Miami won today in overtime against the Ravens, although that probably says more about Baltimore." I sent Troy Aikman an email that just says "Motherfucker."

So the bigger question is: Is this season and losing to the Fins enough for Brian Billick to lose his job in Baltimore? If it is, any thoughts on where he will end up in 2008?

lovely day to be a Ravens fan. (cries) After the heartbreaker to the Patriots two weeks ago, the mauling by the Colts last week, and now to be the first team to lose to the Dolphins... bleh. Kay, i'm done whining. but I agree with chico, i was looking forward to the undefeated vs. the undefeating next week, that would've been entertaining. not that 1-13 vs. 14-0 won't be, of course.

Regardless of the Ravens' record last season, Billick shouldn't remain their head coach. Their offense has gotten worse and worse, culminating with this stellar performance versus the Dolphins. "Mr. Offensive Genius" used to be able to win games with defense, but those days are gone, too. I realize the D has quite a few injuries, but even before that they weren't even close to being what they were in previous years. If the Dolphins were going to win one, it's good for them they had the Ravens on the schedule.

Billick's problem is that he won with Trent Dilfer and while you can do that once in a while, you generally need a stud for a QB or you will look bad each and every week and this is what happened. How much control does Billick have over personnel in Baltimore? Is this fault or the GM's?

Ozzie Newsom's the GM and has had a great reputation. Not sure what the separation of powers is.
