Olympics 2010 Vancouver mascots revealed.

They're certainly an improvement on that stupid snowball and ice cube that they had in Torino.

Nice mascots, though the video makes them seem like a new show on Nick Jr. Quatchi's a pretty good goalie. Nobody's going five hole on that guy.

These things look like they belong in Hello Kitty's Superfriends Hour. "You're too young to remember the Itchy and Scratchy's and Friends show. You've got Disgruntled Goat, Uncle Ant and Klu-Klux Clam..." But it's for the kids. Nothing wrong with that.

Olympic mascots are a regular and consistent source of ridicule. They always look stupid and ill-conceived. Always. So to say that these mascots aren't actually all that bad is to have them clear a very low bar.

I almost squealed like a Japanese school girl when I saw the video of them. They are very super cute, and I love the little touches on them, like: Quatchi has a tattoo of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic symbol.

Quatchi bio.......Because of his large size, he can be a little clumsy. But no one can question his passion. He knows that if he works hard and always does his best, he might one day achieve his dream. Every four years I get this big confidence boost from the Winter Olympic Mascots. If Quatchi can do it, I'm almost sure that I might have a slim chance at achieving my very own worthless goals....oh, nevermind, I give up. I'm gonna go hang with my bff Miga.

Quatchi looks like a mop. I don't have a high opinion of when "art" and the Olympics come into contact with each other. Not since this debacle.

These definitely pass the 'low bar' set for good mascots. But I can certainly see the merchandise possibilities for each. For instance, Quatchi the Sasquatch would make a great plush. :)
