Hidden: A Sad Day at Wake Forest:: Demon Deacons basketball coach Skip Prosser collapsed after jogging Thursday morning and was rushed to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack. One of the true good guys in sports in general, and college basketball in particular, Skip Prosser was only 56.

When I lived in North Carolina, one of my buddies was a sports director of a radio station in Greensboro, and I used to go down there every year for the Greater Greensboro Open, where I had the priviledge of meeting Skip Prosser. Every year, I'd go back, and every year, he remembered my name, asked after my family, and made me feel like he'd known me his entire life. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes right now thinking about how he took the time to make everybody he came into contact with feel like they knew him much better than they really did. Dogfighting, cheating, gambling, it all means nothing next to this. A terrible, terrible loss.
