Hidden: Jayhawk Julian Wright to enter NBA draft,: after repeatedly stating that he would return for one more year to graduate after only three years in school

Not much of a story unless you are a diehard Kansas fan. He will be a marginal NBA player at best. He is just speeding up his paycheck and probably shorting his overall wealth by coming out early. Another player who is coming out before he is ready or really proven himself at the college level. My prediction is a 5 to 7 year journeyman career in the NBA. Will never start or make an impact on an NBA team. In a nutshell a "WHO CARES" player and article.

Wow cloolis, you should be an nba scout. I mean they must really need your help to see the obvious truth. How could all these nitwits who base their livelyhood on scouting talent have been so far off evaluating a player, saying he is a lottery pick? Okay, so there was some unuseful sarcasm there. My point is that no one knows at this point what he will be. He could under-achieve like you think, or he might be all that the scouts think that he will be. Either way, the point is that no one (including you or me) knows for sure, but based on his athleticism and raw talent, the potential for him to be a phenomenal player is there. That is why he will be drafted highly. That is also why this is an interesting story. I don't understand why people comment on articles they don't see as worth discussion. Especially when they say in their comments that the thread is worthless. If you think the thread is worthless cloolis, then don't waste your time on it.

Hawkguy, I feel your pain. it looked like we would return everyone, and i was excited. It seems as if the road could be tough now, b/c we will get younger than we were this year. "Money has never been my motivation," Wright added. "It's mostly just the playing and feeling like I'm able to advance my game and play at the next level. It's not about the money." I find this extremely hard to believe. I think that another year would've been good for him, but i understand the timing argument. Although i could be wrong, i think that the $$$ was the real reason. Rush definitely shouldn't go. In many ways he was worse than last year. His stock has dropped. Maybe Julian learned from him. As for collins, can't blame the guy if that is his reason. Take care of your family man.

If you think the thread is worthless cloolis, then don't waste your time on it. But I think Cloolis has a valid point and explained it fully, instead of just writing "who cares" and rolling out. Are we going to do one of these every time a NCAA player declares for the draft? I would comment on the quality of the links here, but both links are already dead. I'm watching the draft declarations to see if the guys from my school go pro. But if (when) Jeff Green declares, I'm not going to automatically post an FPP with a link to GUHoyas.com. Now, if Camille Powell of the Washington Post writes an interesting article about Green's decision to go pro, that's a different story. Here's my two cents on Julian Wright: I'm not that impressed. He averaged 12 ppg and 6 rpg last year and had some nice performances - and stepped it up in the Big 12 Tournaments, which is good. But he's only a third-team All-American and by his own estimate (puffed up by agents no doubt) he's not even a top 10 pick. Not only that, he repeatedly said he wouldn't leave this year and then left, Saban-style. Best of luck to him, but I think this is a bad move.

It is also rumored that Brandon Rush is soon to follow, and that Sherron Collins will transfer to DePaul to be closer to his girlfriend, who is once again pregnant.
