Cringely says its a ridiculous law that's nearly impossible to enforce. Further, it will just as likely aid terrorists since they'd benefit from software developed to get around this law. Another swell job by our legislative branch, so rushed that this amendment wasn't even included in the printed version of the bill distributed before the vote much less the subject of committee hearings, debate or serious consideration. I think its a reasonable FPP given how often we have threads that cover gambling (e.g. poker) as well as the business of sport.
Of course this is sports related, it just completely changed how millions will watch sports. I tried to reload my online account last week and was notified that my credit card was inactive. And I only do small parlays to make things interesting. The amazing part of this was the huge haircut all these gaming stocks took last week. Billions of dollars of lost market cap. Not only the gaming stocks either, but a lot of the "paypal" type of payment systems on the periphery also went into the tank.
