A Resigning Cub Man's Last Request

Cubs fans have too long of an off-season every year. Thats the only explanation for that song.

MacPhail resigned yes but he wasn't the GM, that position would be left to the wonderful Jim Hendry. I think the Cubs need to completely clean house including Hendry. Dusty Baker is also finished today.

The team President is out, the Manager is out yet the General Manager is still in. I thought poop rolled downhill...must have bounced somewhere to skip over Hendry.

As a life-long suffering Cubs fan all I can say is it's long overdue but realistically "now what". It's unbelievable the field manager (Dusty) and Club President (MacFAIL){just a correction here rcade, Jim Hendry is the General Manager MacFAIL was the President} both "resign" and the guy in the middle (GM Hendry) starts his 2 year extension today. Typical Cubbie BS. Nobody gets fired, they F'ing resign. Give me a break. Stupid twits that run the Tribune replace the "resigned" Club President with the F'ing guy who turned Wrigley Field into a marketing mecca but knows absolutely nothing about Baseball. Still us stupid fans, even after one of the worst performances in Cub History, give these guys our money at the turnstile and record the 2nd highest attendance ever. I guess we deserve each other but like a bad relationship kept afloat by denial nobody wants to hear the truth. This organization is rotten top to bottom , the only hope is the Tribune Co. sells this Club to someone committed to winning. I'm realistic enough to understand they're probably not going to do that in my lifetime.

The owners know that they have the fans by the short hairs- it's a large enough market that they can field an inferior team at a cheap price and still sell out.

There just needs more done to turn the team around. The players themselves almost seem content with playing a little ball and going home. Where is the kick in the ass? Where is the manager screaming at them for stupid plays and lousy performance? Where is the professionalism? The Cubs need a lot of work from the bottom up not just a resignation from a big buck CEO.

big $ somehow does not get the Cubs to the play-offs--it seems that after following these bums for 40 years the act is this---'come to the Cubs--and just show up'--the money will be there no matter how you preform--AND NOBODY THAT COUNTS CARES---the fans still come---(not me, will not go again til the year after they go to a world series)---its been 18 years and counting--LOL

Please no LOL. Anyway, as a cub fan I feel we need a manager that is tough, will yell, and doesn't mind being a Cub. I am talking about Joe Girardi. The Marlins have already said he is gone and I can't think of anyone I would rather see putting up a lineup card for my Cubs than Joe. He will yell, and scream, and get mad like the old catchers used to do when Joe played. Baker needs to go back to SanFran and try to keep up what Felipe has been keeping together.

A Cardinal fan checks in... As is the story in everyday life, your hire date merely signals the number of days 'til your fire date. Dusty Baker was a passionate manager, one who talked the tough guy talk, walked the corporate walk and got the same crummy pink slip most will get before it's all over. You guys really DID deserve a better fate than Bartman's folly! If he wants another job, one will be available... As I was once told, "the world is FULL of headhunting pricks".
