Wright is Wrong for CFL. Preseason ain't even over yet and Wright has been told he won't be renewed at the end of the season. Personally, I don't like the move. Professionally, I wonder who in their right mind would ever accept an offer to be Wright's replacement in the revolving door of CFL head office?

I dunno -- but Ottawa aside, the league is on a real uptick, popularity-wise -- just hope its someone who can lay the groundwork to eventually get a couple more teams up and running in the East -- Ottawa again, Halifax or elsewhere -- and then leave it alone.

i was in canada the other day and i started talking about ricky williams and people seemed more interested in the bills, browns, steeler and pats more than the cfl. does any one really care that much about it?

BWNW, can you find somewhere else to flog your dead horses? I just posted this over here yesterday, but I'll do it again just for you. The Globe and Mail: Survey: Canadian interest in pro football is on the rise Nineteen per cent of Canadians said they follow the CFL, compared to 13 per cent for the NFL. That's a surprising finding, considering the CFL has routinely found ways to shoot itself in the foot over the years while expanding television coverage has resulted in more NFL games being broadcast, thus making it easier for Canadian fans to tune in. As for Wright... everyone saw it coming. The CFL owners are a fairly acrimonious bunch, so no commissioner is going to have an easy time of things.

>Nineteen per cent of Canadians said they follow the CFL, compared to 13 per cent for the NFL. Thanks for pointing that out, DrJohn. I would have assumed the NFL would have had a huge lead - but maybe that's the merchandise on the streets talking. I'm one of the nineteen and one of the eighty-seven.
