Lewis wants to cut Bengal who leaked outburst Lewis vows to release player who leaked to the media reports of an explosion by star wide receiver Chad Johnson at halftime of a Jan. 8 wild-card playoff game.

Whats the big deal, the player not named prolly isn't saying anything that everyone in the world doesn't already know. Chad Johnson is really good at 2 things, putting on a show and running his mouth. Who cares....just play some football!!

So he takes a swing at the coach (even though Lewis of course denies it) and the guy who leaked it is going to get the heave? I guess Orwell was right, some animals really are more equal then other animals.

While I don't agree with terminating the player (and I am not sure the union would approve either), I can see Lewis's point. What goes on in the locker room stays in the locker room. However, CJ is an ass, and Lewis's actions after the loss were childish.

I guess Orwell was right, some animals really are more equal then other animals. I wouldn't quite say that. I would say that, to someone like Lewis, airing private dirty laundry in public is a bigger transgression than a halftime locker room blow up. I would probably agree with that sentiment. On preview: yeah, what terrapin said.

I wouldn't quite say that. I would say that, to someone like Lewis, airing private dirty laundry in public is a bigger transgression than a halftime locker room blow up. I would probably agree with that sentiment. I don't know, I guess we could agree to disagree on this. I mean I certainly agree with team unity and all that, but he's already made such an egotistical ass out of himself enough in public, that it sort of removes the protection of taking a shot at him even from another team mate. To me it'd be sort of like punishing one of Rodman's old team mates if he told the press Rodman was nuts. Still I do see your point.

Oh...and after preview for me... yeah, what terrapin said.

Also Lewis claims it didn't happen the way it came out. How do you know this guy just doesn't like CJ and wanted to get some bad publicity out on him. I agree with Lewis on this one but I don't think it will ever happen cause no one will find out who it was. It may however prevent it from happening again in the future.

Chad Johnson is just like T.O. If their not in the limelight they act like babies. As for Lewis the owner is not going to let him do it.Unless they were going to dump the player anyway.

Didn't lewis ever hear of a whistle blower law? Chad can argue with coaches but no one can talk about Chad? Gotta love modern "athletes".

Also, I think Lewis is normally a good coach. Great motivator. Good X & O guy. This is unlike him... This kind of decision is not how he became a headcoach.

I agree with Lewis' decision. To be a team, you have to keep certain things under wraps for the greater good (cohesiveness). Whatever happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room. Besides, everyone knows that we'll read about this incident in someones book a few years from now anyway...

Oh, and what terrapin said...

Chad Johnson, Keyshawn, T.O., and here we go again!

Chad can argue with coaches but no one can talk about Chad? It is because what is said above, "what is said in the locker room, stays in the locker room." If you are a coach, you don't want the media knowing about these conflicts because often times it can draw them out and blow them out of proportion. However, it can't be said that this player is bad for the team chemistry, he may just not know when to keep his mouth shut (something that is not uncommon). I also do not agree with Lewis potentially cutting this player.

"Unfortunately, we had somebody else who was more selfish than Chad," Never thought I would hear someone say that, unless T.O. was in the room. I agree with the sentiment of wanting to get rid of the player who leaked the story. The locker room is like Vegas, what happens there stays there. Realistically, it is not going to happen because of the players union. They have other issues to deal with, like ensuring we all have football to watch in a couple of years. Let's get that deal done.

How can all of you sit here and rip on Chad Johnson. The guy can not be compared to Terrell Ownens. This guy never complains. The only reason he complained aboutnot getting the ball was because he wants to win. Terrell Owens is out there for himself. CJ is a team player. How ever going along with the subject, Marvin Lewis has no right in doing this. Who does he think he is?

I don't agree with players that throw tantrums because they don't think they get the ball enough, but I am so sick of people who run to the press about everything (not just sports related either) these days. I for one hope they find out the squealer and if they can't release him because of the union, then bench his ass for the year! :o)

The guy can not be compared to Terrell Ownens Tell me about it! Chad's got way better end zone dances!!! Marvin Lewis has no right in doing this. Who does he think he is? Last time I checked, he was the coach. And he didn't get a head coaching gig on accident. He has to control his locker room or we'd see another Philadelphia debacle.

Maybe Lewis can't fire the guy, but he could do something infinitely worse- trade him to the Niners. Did someone mention TO?

Maybe Lewis can't fire the guy, but he could do something infinitely worse- trade him to the Niners. Or the Lions (and I'm a lions fan)

Commander Cody how many Lions games do you get to see (besides thanksgiving) given that you live out in L.A.? By the way, if your a Lakers fan I would like to take this moment to gloat about the 2004 Finals_________________if not then oh well....

Commander Cody how many Lions games do you get to see (besides thanksgiving) given that you live out in L.A.? By the way, if your a Lakers fan I would like to take this moment to gloat about the 2004 Finals_________________if not then oh well.... Not many sadly...or at least I think I'm sad about that? I'm not sure if missing seeing them play makes me a a bigger masochist then just being a fan of them does. Still, they are my team, for better or worse, richer or poorer, sickness or health, until death. Which is why a get to still make fun of them. It's sort of like when I married my Jewish wife I also earned the right to tell Jewish jokes too. As for the Lakers, nope, still a Pistons fan too. I have to be careful saying that though becuase, as I said in an earlier thread, if you say anything bad about the Lakers out here they send Jack Nicholson over to your house to try to hit you with his cane or walker (whichever he has handy).

oh...and what Terrapin said...

Yeah well I can always drop Aretha Franklin on him.

Yeah well I can always drop Aretha Franklin on him. Whoa, I don't know about that. I'm not even sure I can lift her UP, let alone hold her over him. I suppose I could ask Charles Rogers to help me, but sure as hell he'd break both collarbones this time and even other Lions fans would hate me!
