The Rocket to represent the United States. Roger Clemens, who has currently not said whether he will play another season, has been picked to be on the United States team in the World Baseball Classic.

I agree with what it says in the article about Clemens testing whether his body can withstand another season. While the WBC obviously will not be the most accurate measure, it would be better than Spring Training. Plus, it enables him to stay unsigned but still play baseball. Personally, I think Clemens will do well in this tournament and decide to play another season, though I am not sure where.

I hate his guts, He is SUCH a sore loser and he can't stay on one team for more than five minutes, so I don't want him to go to the WBC.

Clemens says he wants to come to Arizona to pitch in the WBC, but will his 43-year-old legs let him? Clemens hinted during a conference telephone call shortly after the roster announcement that he might not be physically ready to pitch. -- Arizona Republic Might well be a moot issue.

I hate his guts, He is SUCH a sore loser and he can't stay on one team for more than five minutes, Boston Red Sox: 13 seasons Toronto Blue Jays: 2 seasons New York Yankees: 5 seasons Houston Astros: 2 seasons (and counting, assuming he signs with them in May) That's 4 franchises in 22 seasons. Don't make it out that he's like this guy, this guy or this guy.

... or this guy.

hurler whore

He's an arrogant son of a beeeeyatch, but I wouldn't mind having him pitch for the Tigers...

He will only pitch for the Astros. He is just holding out and talking to other teams so Houston will pay more.

Who cares, as long as he is pitching for the U.S. Even though he is eligible for Social Security, he is one of the best in the business. He has low ERA's every year and he brings confidence to the team.

all this talk of clemens being arrogant among other things, wouldn't you want that in a starting pitcher? to be an arrogant son of a beeyatch who has the balls to get people out. Man he needs to get on the bus and go over to arlington and pitch for the rangers, we can't keep scoring 10 runs and losing by 5!!!

Whenever I hear people talking about Clemens it reminds me of the way basketball fans used to talk about Bill Laimbeer. Everyone else in the NBA hated his guts...and would have traded 2 number one draft picks and a pile of money to get him one their team. He sure made me glad to be a Pistons fan!

As much as I don't like the cry baby and his attitude I'd still love to see him come back to BOSTON and finish his career where it started - no matter how arrogant he is, he is still one of the BEST in the business - PLEASE COME HOME TO BOSTON FOR THE SUMMER

He will only pitch for the Astros. He is just holding out and talking to other teams so Houston will pay more. Actually, because Houston didn't offer him arbitration, they can't even negotiate with him again until May. So it doesn't matter who he talks with, Houston can't get him until well into the season.

he's old

he's old Old, but still good. I'd still want him pitching for the Tigers. Him and Bonderman would make a great one-two punch.

Old, but still good. I'd still want him pitching for the Tigers. Me too. Hell I'd even fly back to Detriot to see a few games of his (or at least drive down to Anahiem to see them play the Angels of wherever they hell they are), but it's a shame that they'll never be able to afford him for a season or two.

As arrogant as he is he's honestly one of the best pitchers in the last 25 yrs....He clearly reminds me of old school pitchers(seaver,ryan,gibson... etc) I really don't see him going anywhere but 2 places....Astros or fishing everyday!!!!....good luck to the U.S. in the upcoming Series!!!
