Good memories. I had forgotten about the John Candy sighting. How cool was that?
I wish the writer Jeff Gordon could be consitent with his dates. One minute he's talking 1993, the next he's blabbing about SB XXV11. Is it just me, or does anyone else care a rat's arse about these Roman numerals? O-kay, now for a crazy moment... you'll have to forgive me, my mind's a blur, it might have happened 10-15 years ago. There was a Superbowl where an official or some security plain clothes dude was standing directly behind an endzone. It happened in the first half, I believe it was on a long pass and the receiver and tackler hit this guy so hard and fast that he didn't bounce, but rather his legs were pinned and his head slapped the ground. The guy laid motionless and the crowd was silent. The replay made it appear worse than a concussion. The game was held up for a r-e-a-l-l-y long time. I never did find out what happened to that guy, nor can remember what year or Roman numeral it was. Does anybody else remember this??
I can't remember if it was the Super Bowl or a playoff game a few years ago, but the drunken Joe Namath interview with the female reporter where he uttered the now infamous "Can I kiss you?" was truly the wackiest for me!
That drunken Namath moment to Suzie Kolber was NOT a Superbowl, nor a playoff game. It was a regular season Sunday nighter on ESPN, probably memorable only for Namath's humiliation.
Len Pasquerelli has his own list. His #7 when Jackie Smith dropped the world's easiest 6-pointer in the Dallas-Pittsburgh SB of '80 has to be on every list.
I have to say that my favorite plays will be the following -The Mike Jones (who?) save at the 1 yard line in the Rams-Titans clash. That play MADE that game (literally) and I am so glad that I was a part of that game (well, watching that game). -ANY Adam Vinateri field goal (just pick one...they all came in memorable moments during the game...even the one last year, he had to work to get that one in I think) -Desmond Howard's LONG AS HELL kick return against New England. I remember seeing that one and thinking, "man, that's incredible"
