Artest Finally Dealt to Kings The elements came together Wednesday, and this time they stuck: The Kings sent sharpshooter Peja Stojakovic to the Pacers for Artest in an on-again, off-again deal that's been talked about for months.

If Artest can settle down and start being a man that is responsible with his Day job he might be able to actually be a good team mate and be able to help his new team. Peja is definately a help for the Pacers but he'll never replace Reggie. We'll see in the long run if this was a good trade.

Since Sacremento is 18-24 and Indiana is 21-20, I believe that the Pacers will benefit better from this trade than the Kings. As much as Ron Artest is a great basketball player, I do not think he can do much for the Kings. I mean Sacremento is last in their divison, and the season is almost halfway over. It's going to take a mircale for the Kings to turn it around. On the other hand, Indiana has a better chance at the playoff that Artest is gone. They accquired Peja Stojakovic. Peja can drive, penetrate, post-up, and shoot the long-bomb. My prediction for the Pacers is the #5 seed in the East.

See earlier post Let the insanity in 'Mento begin

Thank you Sacremento for taking this crazy man off our hands and out of Indianapolis. He brought nothing but trouble with and I don't think that will change just because he is moving to a different town. The Pacers are so much better off with him gone, good luck handling him Sacremento.

I think its a good deal for both teams. I think both players will thrive in a new environment. As I have both on various fantasy teams, I am hoping for that to be true.

Like mentioned before. If Artest can settle down and act like he has sense he will be a great fit for this team. Although they are last in their divison, they still have a chance. Not much of one if Artest can't adapt. As for Peja he is a great fit for any team.

Kings made out on this deal. I live in Sacto. We have been frustrated for years with a player who is basically inconsistent. His durability is suspect at best and his desire has been questioned by those around him. He has been invisible this year, and would cost more than he is worth to resign at the end of the season. The biggest problem for Sac is having a player who can draw a double team. Sac has been missing Web's ability to do this. Will Artest be the answer? But something had to change.

What's more frustrating. A guy who can't get it done becasue his physical tools are lacking OR a guy who was all the talent in the world but can't get his head on straight? As a Pacer fan I know that answer. I've got one word for Sactown. SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming from Detroit I have to be ecstatic Artest is out of the east. Indiana has nothing on the Pistons like everybody was saying. Part of it is that Artest wasn't playing but Peja should be a good help to them.

I would say that both teams came out of the deal better. Indiana just needed Artest off their hands, they received a decent replacement for Reggie in the good offensive player role. I don't think that the Kings are suckers. I think Artest is a MUCH better player than Peja, if Sacramento can keep him away from the press for a while and let him settle in smoothly, the Kings will be good, THIS YEAR. Indiana is currently 7th in the East, my prediction is a finish at 6, maybe 5. But will be much better next year. The Kings are 12th in the West, I predict that they will just miss the playoffs, but show a hard fought end of the season, and really do some damage next year.

This is a perfect deal for both teams. Mr Ron Artest welcome to Sacramento we have been waiting for you now go kick some ass!

I'm just ready for Sacramento fans are seriously disappointed when Artest turns out to be the same asshole he was in Indiana. I'm sorry for the T.O. reference, but its the same sort of thing. T.O. was being an asshole in San Francisco, was decent for a bit with Philly, then returned to his T.O. self. The same thing (though maybe without the decent part) will happen with Artest.

took the words right out of my mouth YYM. this guy wanted to be in NY for all the reasons a fame-hungry celebrity would want to play in NY. now he becomes the (2nd? 3rd?) biggest fish in the small pond that is sacramento, not to mention the 2nd (at best) option in the offense, and he's happy with this? like others, i hope this works out for the best because i think he could put some bite back into the kings/lakers rivalry... but i'm skeptical. on a related kings note: what is it with shareef abdur rahim? everywhere he goes turns rotten. what's that about?

Bottom line....Artest can help the Kings IF and WHEN he grows up!

artest is a jerk. he causes trouble wherever he goes. he was terrible at the bulls 3 yrs ago and he didnt do diddly shit with the pacers to bring them anything big. i dont know why the kings are taking him. they better be ready for some changes in the locker room and within the players because of artest. snika, ur are dumb because artest isnt a team player and doesnt have a better average makes in his shot %. Last year peja was the nba's best three point shooter!

I guessing Ron-Ron was swayed by some comp visits to the Hardwood Suite.

Artest is why people are fed up with pro sports!

Him, TO and Barry Bonds...they're like the triangle of badass wannabees who think they can use their greed and arrogance to influence the sports world. Thereby I banish them to the 7th circle of Hell...

Artest is a jerk, but ala Dennis Rodman. Jerks make things interesting, aint that right willthrill72. Just kiddin buddy. Artest is an over achiever who has utilized his physical and mental toughness to maximize his ability. Peja has more talent hands down. Artest is an athlete. Peja is a skilled shooter who can last past his athletic prime. Come on Ron Artest is going to help anyteam. But he wont tip the scales unless there is a bonified Superstar that can be relied on to carry the team. He also is a loose canon. He isnt disciplined and really doesnt fit the mold of an NBA Forward on the offensive end. He's robin not batman.

He would have helped Clevland more

Ron Artest needs a coach to kick his ass (because Rick Carisile certainly wasn't doing the job in Indiana...and neither were any of his old Bulls coaches) Ron needs a coach who's hard core, loves defense, and demands his players to shut up and work. He needs someone in the Bill Fitch mold. He needs a guy like (gasp)...Larry Brown Course Larry would probably just leave the team (citing 'health reasons') and go coach in the CBA after putting up with this nutcase.

A google search shows there are plenty of psychologists in the Sacramento area. With the right drugs/tratment, who knows, maybe the Maloof Bros. can get the help they need. This trade must be the result of some kind of panic attack or mental breakdown in Sac Town. Peja may be in decline, and somewhat whiney, but at least he's not insane.
