Oh boy, one of my favorite games to play with pals: Rusty Kuntz - use to play for the Tigers and coach for the Mariners Dick Pole - use to pitch for the Royals Dick Trickle - espn poster child and sometime race car driver Gregor Fucka's gonna be tough to top though. Especially when that Fucka is penetrating the lane. There's a great legend about a guy who used to play for the Soviet national basketball team whose last name was Yurin. The story, told by the American radio play-by-play guy goes that he went to a team official to ask how it was pronounced and to his horror was told "just like it's spelled". At one memorable point in the game the play by play went "Yurin dribbles down court, Yurin shoots, Yurin scores! Yurin is hot tonight!"
Wasn't there a South Park song about him?
Footballers: Carsten Jancker. Stefan Kuntz. Junior Bent.
Hmm... I'm predicting high sales for the Fucka Pacers jersey.
Oh yeah, the Pacers used to have an assistant coach named Dick Harter (sounds like Harder when pronouced with a "soft" t - the way most would pronouce it, unless you went out of your way to over-pronouce the T). He is the assistant for Detroit now, I think.
All I can say to that is... damn I wish he'd played college ball in the ACC. We had a lot of fun with some guys down at Cameron, but he would have taken the cake and eaten it too.
Footie rules.
Harter's in Boston now, actually. Explains a lot about their defensive resurgence.
Sunderland had a player last season called Bernt Haas...
The most apropo name I can recall is former Notre Dame linebacker Michael Stonebreaker. Who wants to line up across from a guy named Stonebreaker?
i've always like former pittsburgh pirate "Dick Groat."
Yeah, Fucka is a pretty good family name, but it still doesn't top Miroslav Satan. Check out his player id number for ESPN.com, Yahoo.com, and CNNsi.com. Yep, you guessed it, 666.
