So democracy sucks, ahh? Did you vote for Kerry by any chance? A truly worthless comment:Off-
topicInflammatoryMeaningless drivelHumourless Congratulations, zippinglou! As a retort, I'd respond : "Maybe he did vote Kerry, but the Diebold machines converted it to Bush!" Back on topic... As Tubby Fan said, voting by fans tends to be a bit on the erratic side. Everytime I see injured players getting votes for the all-star team, it just reinforces the silliness of applying any importance to a "fan vote". Throw in the fact that it was online, and it's just that much more inane ("Vote early! Vote often!").
Oh, and one more thing. That David Wright play is just so much fun to watch, but I thought more love should have been given to Belliard's no-look toss.
drevl, Maybe you could point out to me from where you draw this conclusion? privately? sfts2@excite.com
Last year, Yao Ming received the most all-star votes in NBA History. He's good, but not that good. But can 10 million Chinese be wrong?
zippinglou - I merely point to every All-Star Game in every sport as proof that mass fan-voting sucks. Also, your election is a great example. But let's not quibble here. No I did not vote for John Kerry. However, not all of us were in the position to do that. See my profile for details. So in conclusion: *BELCH*.
So not all mass voting sucks? Now I'm confused !
I merely point to every All-Star Game in every sport as proof that mass fan-voting sucks. Yeah, whoever said that any sport needs fans is an idiot. Nobody cares what the fans think. That's why television will never spend millions (or billions) of dollars to show games; nobody would watch. That's why there will never be radio stations and entire sections of the newspaper devoted to sports. Whoa, whoa, time warp.
Great point. You're right. Because fans pay for tickets all those times Cal Ripken was voted All-Star SS aren't fucking ridiculous.
