Sharapova has lost "N" match points It was said that Maria Sharapova would go to death if she couldn't get the Grand Slam(the Aus Open),but now she has already cracked down on her way.

Comments

From the article: "There's nothing negative - I'm 17 years old and I've made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open," Sharapova said. "This is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Of course I'm sad, it's a tough one to lose. But I've got a long way ahead of me." That sure doesn't sound like someone who's about to "go to death". It sounds like a sensible athlete with a good dose of perspective. Can't wait for the final!

a sensible athlete with a good dose of perspective. possibly one of her best assets, imo also Safin is into the finals.

also Safin is into the finals. Now that is a story! I didn't think anyone was gonna stop Federer!!! They're replaying the Safin/Federer match today at 2 on ESPN2, for anyone who's interested (I know I am). Re: other men's semi, Roddick or Hewitt? My vote's on Roddick.

I can't wait to see the replay - 5 hrs of what must've been the match of the tournie! I'm going with Hewitt, just because of his old fire he put on display last week. When he's that juiced, he's really tough to beat. And it fits with the resurgence motif this Open seems to be creating.

"Safin versus Federer was pure crowd-pleasing tennis between two of the game's most gifted all-around players. Every point was a struggle as they punished weak shots and swapped stinging groundstrokes and drop volleys." the headline at tsn.ca over a pic of a screaming Safin reads "Instant Classic"

9-7 in the fifth, doesn't get any better than that. Safin is my favorite player on the tour, so I'll be pulling for him the rest of the way. If he can stay focused and build a career worthy of his talent, there promises to be heroic battles between him, Roddick and Federer for years to come. As far as Hewitt goes, however, I hope Roddick sticks it to the little twerp. Enough with that "come on" bullshit already.

If Roger Federer is always the leader, than there will be no interests and obviously,Safin has finalized him this time, which pulled in the great favor to tennis matches.

what luckygirl said. sorta.
