Jason Taylor Traded to Redskins After losing two defensive ends to season-ending injuries on the first day of camp, the Washington Redskins traded a second-round and sixth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for defensive end Jason Taylor.

For the Redskins sake, they better hope that Jason Taylor doesn't get hurt as well or they could just call this upcoming season a wrap.

The Redskins are getting one hell of a deal. As a Dolphin fan I love Jason Taylor and I'm sad to see him go, I'll really miss watching him play. I wish he'd have been able to go somewhere where he'd finally get a chance to win.

In theory, this is a great pickup, but haven't the Redskins been disappointed time and again by big-name veterans who prove to be creakier than advertised? Absent that history, I'd commend the Skins for getting Taylor on the cheap - he's an awesome player - but I have to wonder if this isn't just another Dan Snyder Special.

Depends. Most of those "big-name veterans who prove to be creakier than advertised" were past their prime and Taylor is in the mist of his. I can see this working out for Taylor and the Redskins but didn't he say that this is going to be his final year anyways? I have to wonder if he'll play with the same tenacity considering that he wants to live the Hollywood lifestyle after football.

I'd commend the Skins for getting Taylor on the cheap A 2nd and a 6th for a 33 year old who is one "Scorpion King" movie offer away from retiring from the game altogether doesn't sound that cheap to me. Not exactly expensive, but not without it's risks either.

Bill Parcells is pretty savvy. If he traded him it was probably a good time to do so. Of course Parcells doesn't usually go for the Hollywood types.

Screw the Hollywood-type talk. Parcells knows the Dolphins are going absolutely suck and he was looking for draft picks. That's the onlyl reason he would get rid of the team's best player. As for Taylor, he's not some crappy vet with baggage and a bad attitude. He's one of the best defensive ends in recent NFL history, and the Redskins just improved themselves big-time for the coming season. Taylor isn't looking ahead to his career after football just yet. If he's going to step on the field, he's going to be prepared to play at a high-caliber. As for his dancing and what-not, it was the OFF-season. Maybe he would have been better off smoking weed with Ricky, getting in fights, beating up his spouse, starting riots in strip clubs, etc. (the the Cowboys would have been in the bidding on him along with the 'Skins).

Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Jason Taylor. All were ready for their careers to take back off in Washington. Except Jason Taylor. He will hate it in Washington and wish for his season to end to return to LA and his next movie or TV spot. Believe me if he was not happy in Miami he will hate DC, I live there. Great job Danny Boy! Once again you got an ancient one year project that will cost a couple draft picks and a whole lot of fans to have one more reason to hate you. From a Giant fan I salute you! Keep it up little man, it gets better every day.

The player with the longest tenure on the Miami Dolphins' roster is now Ricky Williams. I hope Tony Soprano can work miracles.

Taylor isn't looking ahead to his career after football just yet. You know this how? Would seem to contradict everything we're hearing about him, even comments made directly by him and his agent about his acting "bug".

I think Jason Taylor was probably wooed when Dan Snyder told him that he hangs out with Tom Cruise.

You know this how? Because he's still playing football. What has he done throughout his career that would make you think he's not going to play near All-Pro caliber? I just don't get what has happened in the past year that would make people doubt the guy all of a sudden. You act like he's coming off horrible years, injuries, acted like an asshole, bashed his team and teammates, etc. The guy was the freaking NFL "Man of the Year" for god's sake! If Mr. Ego Bill Parcells hadn't shown up with his dumb-ass attitude, nobody would even be having a discussion about Taylor's potential value to any team.
